Q:   What Personal Instruction did Prabhupada give you about book distribution? 

SG:  About book distribution, Prabhupada said, "Big books are more important than softbacks."

He said hardback is more important than softback.  He was very firm about this point.  Give out big books.  He wanted more big books distributed, he always said that.

And he really liked the Radha-Damodar Party. 

He said, the main thing he liked about the Radha-Damodar Party...  He said, you have understood a very important point, that in the Kali Yuga people don't come to the Temple, you have to bring the Temple to the people. 

This was the whole idea about book distribution.  Go out to the people. 

Q: Did Prabhupada say anything about Bhagavatam versus Gitas.

First and second Cantos Prabhupada wanted.  Bhagavad-Gita and first and second Canto Bhagavatam. 

He liked the book distribution we were doing. 

At one point, I complained to Prabhupada.  We were distributing so many books with the Radha-Damodar Party, I said, "Prabhupada, they can't keep up with our distribution."    He said, Alright, don't worry.

They were doing 20 000 at the time.  He said, I will instruct them to print 50 000.  He said, that one thing is, that although they can't keep up with you, you can't keep up with me.  Because, I'm three cantos, or two cantos of you both.  So I'm ahead of both of you. 

He got into the competitive mood.  (laughter)

He was very competitive, Prabhupada.

One time we were going to Japan.  Prabhupada asked me... we were going to India.  He said, "If anyone challenges that I have used this name, 'Prabhupada,'  you should ask them, 'How many books have you printed?  How many miles have you traveled? How many Temples have you made?  How many Devotees have you made?  Ask them that."

He said, "I should not say this, but I can say it honestly, I have inherited the property of my Guru Maharaja."

Very strong.
